Argon 18 Gallium

The Gallium is a top level road race frameset, designed to perform at the highest levels, but still with a degree of longer distance comfort built in. The bottom bracket area and chainstays are massively oversized for maximum rigidity and lightning-quick acceleration, while the elegant seatstays and flattened top tube are designed to ensure enough vertical compliance for comfort.

The Ga31 fork is exclusive to the Gallium and as with the frame, vertical compliance and lateral rigidity are ideally balanced. Its design concept revolves around an enlarged crown area, using a rugged 1’’1/4 size headset that increases stability, particularly at high speed. The headtube uses a patented 3D system of interlocking spacers that allow for three headtube lengths for each frame size - enabling riders who prefer a more upright position to retain the same front end handling characteristics and headtube stiffness as those with a lower position. It also places the headset top bearing closer to the stem, eliminating the need for stacked spacers and thus reducing the excessive flex caused by overly long, unsupported steerer tubes.

The frame is constructed from 6003 HM carbon, which is a sophisticated, highly refined composite. Every frame section uses different grades of HM fibers in a complex layup, to handle the different stresses the frame encounters in different areas and to minimise redundant material, resulting in lower weight. This translates to an increased stiffness that is readily felt when riding, with full power transfer and tight, quick handling, combined with maximum vibration dissipation for day-long comfort. The S3 monocoque construction method delivers consistent performance across all sizes of frame by varying the diameter of the down and top tubes according to tube length, so all riders will experience the same ride qualities regardless of bike size.
