Every few years a bike comes along from one of the top manufacturers that really stands out from the pack for its sheer class, desirability and performance - and the Bianchi Oltre Nero is one such bike.  Hailed as the best bike Bianchi has ever made, the Oltre Nero has everything you could ask of a true superbike: subtle but stunning looks, sublime ride quality, featherweights (the Nero is 100g lighter than a standard Oltre!) and engineering excellence - but every bit as importantly the Oltre Nero has that real dash of exclusivity that is so rarely seen in the world of mass production. 

The Oltre Nero is not a bike that you will see turning up in hoards at sportives or on the local club run, as it was produced in a single production run, with worldwide numbers being carefully limited in order to create a bike that will remain exclusive and collectable for years to come – there is every possibility that the Oltre Nero will become one of those rare bikes that increases in value as time passes. 

As featured in ProCycling, we are absolutely delighted to have secured exclusive rights in the UK to the Oltre Nero, but we now have just two left in our warehouse stock (although we may be able to special order additional frames direct from Bianchi's factory in Italy), so please enquire about availability at the earliest opportunity.

The Oltre Nero comes to us as a bare frameset, ready to be custom built to your own individual specification or using your own components in our workshop – and, as with all of our bikes, each Oltre Nero will include a free professional fitting session so that we can set it up perfectly for you.

The following specifications are intended only to provide some examples of final builds - every single component can be selected to suit you personally (as in the custom specifications pictured), and we can also supply the Oltre Nero as a frameset only option.

About the Bianchi Oltre:

The fabulous new Oltre SuperLeggera (SuperLight) sits at the very top of Bianchi's HOC, or Hors Categorie range, which represents their very highest level of road race bike - in fact, Bianchi believe that the Oltre is quite simply the finest bike they have ever made, which is a bold claim for the world's oldest and most iconic bike brand!

The Oltre uses the very latest carbon nanotechnology (microscopic hollow fibres, or "nanotubes") together with a patented molding process, known as Wrinkleless Molding Process or WMP, that eliminates any wrinkles or excess material on the inner surface of each frame tube to achieve Super Light frame weights - a size 55 weighs just 930g. At the same time, the use of nanotubes also ensures very high levels of strength, resilience and stiffness for maximum pedalling efficiency - carbon fibre sheets formed from nanotubes have a tensile strength 400 times greater than that of steel!

Bianchi have adopted a design philosophy for their race specific frames that prioritises comfort equally alongside the traditional goals in race bike design of low weight, sharp handling and stiffness. This is down to their belief that riders who race in comfort will be fresher at the end of a long day in the saddle than riders aboard uncompromisingly stiff bikes - they will also enjoy the ride more too! So, while the Oltre will never be as relaxed as the C2C bikes in Bianchi's range, such as the Infinito, it has significantly more vibration absorbtion built into it than most other pro level race frames on the market - this is thanks in part to the use of Ultra Thin Seat Stays that offer enhanced vertical compliance over conventioally profiles stays.
