Over the past 10 years Tour Magazine has tested over 2,000 bikes, and to celebrate their anniversary named their "Best Bike of the World" - with the Cannondale SuperSix Evo taking the title!

And little wonder: at 695 grams in a Large and 142.3 nm/deg/kg, the Evo is the lightest production frame in the world and has the best stiffness-to-weight ratio - this is impressive enough, but the true beauty of evo is its balance of lightness, strength and stiffness combined with a smoothness that represents the true evolution of efficiency.

Cannondale SuperSix Evo - Highlights

BALLISTEC CARBON: Cannondale’s high-strength carbon construction method allows them to achieve extremely low eights with exceptional stiffness and strength. Lighter and stiffer than aluminium, pound for pound sronger than steel, BallisTec carbon ends for ever any hint of a connection between ultra-light carbon frames and fragility. Available in three different fibre variants:

Evo Nano: The lightest production frame on the planet uses advanced high modulus Ballistec Construction and nano tech resins fr maximum weight savings.

Evo Hi-Mod: The original SuperSix Evo - high modulus Ballistec construction delivers extreme low weight and stoffness.

Evo Carbon: A higher percentage of intermediate-modulus fibre Ballistec construction expands the Evo line with a super high-performance frame, with the same ride characteristics of the rest of the Evo family with minimal weight penalty (sub 950g frame).

CONTINUOUS CARBON - The Evo's construction features a continuous network of high modulus stiffening fibres that run around the joint areas and alongside the outside edges of the frame tubes. This network connects all parts of the frame and allows for precise tuning of ride quality and handling. .

QUADRUPLE MONOCOQUE DESIGN - The Evo is made up of four individual monocoque pieces: the head/down/top tubes, the BB/seat tubes, and the two chain stay/dropout/seat stay assemblies (which on their own save 40g and distribute forces more evenly) are separately molded then joined with a precise pattern of carbon over-wrapping.

SPEED SAVE MICRO-SUSPENSION - one of the keys to the astonishing speed and comfort balance that reaches new heights in the Evo. While most companies view vertical compliance simply as a means of enhancing rider comfort, Cannondale have designed a unique system that actually makes the bike faster. The SuperSix Evo has two zones of vertical compliance that work in tandem to improve speed and comfort. The first zone is made up of the SPEED SAVE Stays and Offset Dropout Fork Blades, and focusses primarily on chassis dynamics. Much like the suspension in F1 cars, these features are engineered to help the bike roll faster, not necessarily to add comfort. Subtle compliance vertically in these areas, mated with superb lateral and torsional rigidity, delivers improved rolling speed, better acceleration, dramatically increased cornering speed and control without affecting poioer transfer. The second zone concentrates on rider comfort. The seat tube features a directionally optimised carbon fibre layup that allows it to deflec slightly fore and aft, which diffuses vibration and impacts, and reduces the energy-sapping muscle micro-trauma caused by long days in the saddle.

REDUCED FRONTAL AREA - compared to the oversized competition, the Evo has around a 20% smaller diameter downtube, 11% smaller head tube and 15% thinner fork blades, while still delivering world leading stiffness, strength and ultra light weights. All of this adds up to significant reductions in frontal area and aerodynamic drag without the added weight and lost rigidity of many aero tube shapes.
