Road riding isn’t just about taking your place on the start line every Sunday morning, it’s also about getting together with good friends, exploring country lanes and covering lots of ground comfortably and at speed. The Equilibrium was designed just for this and the Reynolds 725 frameset mixes comfort, speed and efficiency and proves that steel is still a material to be reckoned with for a fast road ride. The classic aesthetics give a nod to racing bikes of past generations.

A blend of classic materials and a semi-compact geometry is an effective combination for a bike that rewards high-mileage riders and those who value high-speed ride feel over anything else. The Reynolds 725 frame tubes, slim stays and carbon fork reduce road buzz to a minimum, and the handling lets you get on with keeping the pace up, reacting less to road feedback and more to rider input.

Genesis use Reynolds steel for many reasons, the main one being that they value the experience of the original maker of butted bicycle tubing. Every high-quality bike out there has been influenced by the tubing technology that Reynolds have been perfecting for over 100 years.

Reynolds 725 Chrome-Moly is the perfect material for a road frame that will surprise you with the quality and comfort of it’s ride. The main aim with steel frames is to produce a strong, durable frame with enough spring to add comfort and ride ‘feel’, but without excessive flex that can compromise the handling on a fast descent. A 34.9mm diameter down tube keeps the frame on-line during out-of-the-saddle climbing or hard cornering, while straight steel A-frame chain stays and seat stays are well triangulated, allowing the use of slim tubes that reduce road feedback and increase comfort. Ideal for less-than-perfect road surfaces and long rides, all year round fast training, sportives or audax distances - or any rides where ride quality is more important than pure wattage conversion rates.

The Equibrium's geometry is designed for comfortable power output that adds confidence and a natural flow to road riding, creating a bike that won’t fidget for attention and handles with commitment. It also has the advantage of giving a less stretched top tube for a wheelbase and stem length that are the road-race norm, plus enough room for deep drop brakes and mudguards without toe overlap.
