Social Rides - all welcome - next ride: 27th November 2010

Ride cancelled on 27th November due to weather forecast. The coffee will still be on though, so if the weather (as it so often does) turns out better than the worst case and you still fancy an informal ride please pop in for a quick coffee stop!

Our popular series of shop based social rides has moved back to a fortnightly cycle as the autumn kicks in - next ride is on 30th October - please check back here for route details, but it will not be too hilly as this is the first of the autumn season, and will be around 30 miles in length.

The rides set out at 10am on Saturdays and take around 2-2.5 hours, covering 30-35 miles on quiet roads, starting and finishing at Epic Cycles, with free tea/coffee and cake at the end.

The idea of our rides is to combine a social outing with a bit of light training.  The pace is a bit steadier than on a standard club ride, but isn't a dawdle either, and the length makes for a decent workout but still gets you back in time for lunch.  And no-one will be left behind.  The route for the next ride is shown below.

If you fancy coming along, just turn up at the shop and we will introduce you to the ride leader (Dave Lee is the leader for the next ride).  Some riders drive out and take it from there, as we have plenty of parking, while others ride out and incorporate the social side into a longer training ride of their own.  The choice is yours.

Please note: helmets are compulsory on these rides, and all riders take part at their own risk.

Please note: please fit mudguards if you have them...the roads are getting a bit wet and mucky...
