For over 60 years VINER has specialised in designing and constructing desirable and top performing hand built racing frames and bicycles. The VINER brand first appeared in 1947, the brainchild of VIviano NERosi, whose passion was to build the finest custom-made racing bicycles. VINER is still a family owned and controlled company and the founder’s passions are still reflected in the company’s no compromise commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Even with many years experience of building thousands of high-level racing frames (many for World and Olympic champions) VINER has continued its commitment to Research & Development to enable it to embrace the latest technologies in manufacturing techniques and materials. VINER is the only company in the world to custom-make frames in Carbon, Titanium, Magnesium, Alloy and Steel (and combinations thereof).

Not only are VINER's custom-made products designed in Italy, they are proudly and genuinely “MADE IN ITALY”. VINER also developed the technology that enables them to custom-make their top end carbon frames - not only to each customer’s size and equipment specifications but also, for the Maxima, to incorporate the customer’s individual weight and ride preferences. The Maxima is only available as a made to measure frameset.

At Epic Cycles we pride ourselves on providing bikes to suit your own individual needs. We always have a comprehensive range of carefully selected ready-to-ride bikes in store to cater for all types of rider and all budgets.  But if you see something you like and want anything changed we are only too happy to swap components in and out to meet your requirements.  Alternatively, we can start with the frameset and build from scratch to your specification.

Viner Magnifica - Special Limited Edition - just £1199!

The Magifica-Plus is the latest evolution of Viner's Magnifica monocoque frameset. It has been completely re-designed for fast sportive riding, but with performance and handling that will also more than hold its own in road races.

The Magnifica-Plus frameset is constructed from an exclusive Dedacciai carbon fibre tubeset, that is available only to Viner. It uses unidirectional long fibres and a thermal hardening resin that together enable close control of frame stiffness and comfort. The framest features an integrated bottom bracket and headtube, and an oversized and elegantly profiled downtube.

The structure of the frame, with its semi-compact sloping design and oversized tubing, is rigid when applying power during climbing or sprinting, but careful choice of materials and the rear triangle design also offer an ideal balance of strength and comfort for day long riding.

2010 Viner Passo - just £1199 complete!

The Viner Passo is a classic Italian steel road bike with a retro feel and bags of versatility. The frame is constructed by hand in Viner's Tuscan factory from Tig welded Deda 12.5 steel tubing, and comes complete with mudguard and rack eyes, making it a perfect choice for audax, light touring, commuting and as a winter training bike for serious roadies!

The forgiving ride feel provided by a quality steel frame is well known, and the Passo build on this with the use of a carbon Deda Black Rain fork. Deda 12.5 steel tubing is not a heavyweight "soft" material though - while it is undoubtedly smooth, and will always be a little heavier than a light alloy or carbon tubeset, it is a product that was specifically developed for use in high level race frames.

Retro decals and a burnt orange paint finish provide a classic retro look for the bike, but the construction methods, geometry and fittings are 100% up to date, enabling the use throughout of standard modern componentry.

"This masterpiece proves that custom-made frames really make a difference. Any pro would be proud to be seen on the Maxima, and so should you", Marcel Wust (ProCycling).

2010 Viner Maxima - framesets from £2999, including consultation and frame sizing

Custom built made-to-measure perfection from Italy's master frame builders!

"There’s no doubt about it – the Maxima is the best bike I’ve ever tested. Viner have gone out of their way to produce something extra-special for their 60th anniversary, and the beautifully designed and engineered Maxima fits the bill" - Marcel Wust, ProCcyling. Click here to read the full review.

The Viner Maxima uses the highest grade carbon available, as used by Ferrari and Ducatti, in its main traingle. These tubes are then hand woven to suit the requirement of the rider. Not only can Viner change the number of layers they weave, and therefore the strength but they can also change the cross pattern and therefore change the ride characteristics of the frame to meet a rider's weight, geometry and ride preferences. They are even able to use 100% carbon re-enforcement on the inside of the tubes where normally manufacturers have to use alloy inserts, i.e. the front mech clamp area, saving weight. The overall effect is that these carbon tubes are over four times stronger than any other carbon tube in the market place - the Maxima also has a new construction method for joining the seat and down tubes to the bottom bracket, increasing bottom bracket stiffness by 20%.  The Fork and the Rear Triangle is made from T900 carbon, the highest quality production carbon available.

The Maxima has no rider weight limit, as it constructed to meet the needs of the individual owner, so if you are 150 kilo's then no problem they can make a frame to suit. Most frames are weight or force limited and this is why most pro's, especially the sprinters, get frames made to measure .

It is very important to make sure that you have a frame fitting session, and talk to us about the kind of riding you plan to do and the sort of bike feel that your prefer, as the frameset will be constructed by hand to meet these individual requirements. This information is a critical part of the specification we require before we discuss the construction of the frame with Viner in Italy.

Finished in a choice of colour schemes, or even painted to your own design!

Please note: The Maxima is only available as a custom built made to measure frameset and requires a full consultation and frame fitting session, which is included in the price of £2899.
