How is Epic Cycles different to other shops?
A bike says a lot about the type of person you are – it’s a
lifestyle statement. We understand this and will take the time
to get to know you and what you want from cycling. At Epic
Cycles you will not be pressured to make hasty decisions you may
regret later. Instead, we will offer you a cup of coffee
and the chance to chat with us about what you really want to get
out of a bike, or leave you to browse at your leisure round our
3000ft showroom, set in a converted 17th century barn.
We are ethical. We will never sell you something that doesn’t
fit, just because we are being pressured by manufacturers to promote it. We will not
try to sell you something outside your budget or to blind you
with cycling science in order to sell you something that isn't
right for your needs. And you don't need to be a technical
expert to receive a warm welcome or honest advice.
If you want to try a bike before you buy, you can, we will even go for a test ride with you
if possible. Our location has been
chosen partly because there are lovely quiet roads to cycle on right outside the door.
We have strong relationships with quality cycle builders that
stand out from the norm, and that we really believe in. Their
cycles are well-reviewed and have a strong heritage. We will
regularly visit their workshops so that in the
unlikely event of a problem, or if we want to discuss a custom
geometry frame size, we can talk to people who know who we are
and what we are about. And it doesn't have to cost the earth - we offer custom built cycles from £349
and off-the-peg bikes from just £199.
We operate an every day fair pricing policy, giving you great
value for money every time you visit.
We treat every customer
equally; one price for everybody, whether you are an occasional
rider or someone with ten bikes in the garage. If you come in
for an inner tube or a pair of carbon wheels, there is no need
to haggle or ask for discounts, you will have our very best
price to start with.
We believe that our staff should be well-trained, professional
and courteous. They should be able to talk about how a bike
handles and feels, what it is suited for, and whether it fits
with your needs and aspirations. Between us we have tried
out pretty much every piece of kit in the store, and if and of
it disappoints us we won't stock it.
We stock cycles for all sides
of cycling that we know inside out; like road racing, triathlon, cyclo-sportives, time trials, track, cyclocross,
commuting, and cross
country MTB. We know what riding positions work
(and have measuring jigs to assess your specific needs), we know when a
bike frame needs to be stiff and conversely, when it should be compliant and
comfortable. We know which manufacturer excels in which
sub-category, and which components represent real value for money
and suit which frames.
We don’t just sell bikes. We’ll ride with you before you buy.
We’ll sweat with you on timetrials or a cyclo-sportive. We’ll buy
you a cup of tea in the middle of winter on a club ride. We’ll
keep you up to date with the latest products the minute we find
out about them.
Epic Cycles is a new concept in cycle retailing. Our
manufacturing partners are distinctive. You won't find them
everywhere. People will ask you what you are riding and most
definitely sneak an admiring glance when they think you aren’t
looking.
We want to make Epic Cycles synonymous with the highest levels
of customer service in the industry - from the moment you
contact us for a chat or some advice, through purchasing and
riding your new machine, to the point at which you start to
think about trading your bike in for a newer model. Buying
and owning a bike should be a pleasurable experience, and we are
determined to make it so.
And we have a sense of humour. If we think you look a bit daft in a
pink and purple skinsuit, we’ll tell you! (Politely)
Epic Cycles is situated in the heart of the Worcestershire
countryside, away from busy ‘A’ roads, so that you can safely
try out our bikes. And please, bring your family. Even if your partner isn’t interested in
cycling, let them enjoy the tranquillity of the beautiful
Capability Brown gardens adjacent to our shop.
