The 2008 Speedster series gets a shapely new hydro-formed 7005 butted alloy frameset that is elegant and unique to look at, and which delivers high levels of ride refinement at an affordable price. Unlike other aluminium frames, the head, down and top tubes are constructed as a single unit using fluid pressure, rather than being mitred and welded. The tubes are profiled and the head tue is oversized to create a quick and sharp handling ride, backed up by race geometry. Weighing a scant 2.62 lbs, the Speedster frame is lighter than many competitors’ high end offerings.

The new Addict is the lightest road frame available, just 790 grams with integrated Seatpost (165 grams). By developing further upon their successful CR1 process, Scott have created a state of the art Integrated Molding Process (IMP™) and mated it with their Naked External Tubeset (NET™), which removes the cosmetic layer of carbon and shaves precious grams off the entire frame. The Addict also features carbon dropouts, an integrated carbon seatpost, a replaceable allow hanger, and a carbon front derailleur mount.

The Addict was developed with feedback from Pro-Tour Saunier Duval Prodir athletes Gilberto Simoni and Leonardo Piepoli. When combined with the new, slimmer carbon IMP™ fork that weighs just 330 grams, the 2008 Addict LTD weighs an amazing 5.9 kg (size 54) for the complete bike.  Quite simply, the lightest production road frame in the world - but this would count for nothing if the ride didn't match up to the figures.
